I won a Prize!

Horay, look at all the lovely lovely goodies Louise sent me for winning her blogiversary prize.

I was very excited as I never win prizes. I'm sure the chocolate won't stay untouched for long! Thanks Louise.
Now onto the WIP for the week, my version of the spiral socks. I can't decide if these are hideous or really cool. What do you think? Just the toe (in turquoise) to go on these.

A close up of the spiral pattern, I'm hoping they will be a bit more even when blocked.

Now for a pair of socks I am very happy with, my Cranford Socks.

Started: 1st April
Finished: 13th April
Pattern: My own sock pattern. The lace repeat is based of those in Jane Lithgow's Cranford Mitts.
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Turquoise
Needles: 2.5mm
Comments: A really simple horseshoe lace repeat over 60 stitches. I love them. Natalie at the Yarn Yard is dyeing me some merino and I'm going to make a pair from that with contrasting heels and toes. Let me know if you would like the pattern and I'll talk to Jane about writing it up (as it is her idea I've stolen!)

Lets see if this works this time. Blogger keeps eating my comments today.

I think the colourwork portion of the sock works wonderfully, I'm less sure when I see it with the whole plain foot. However, as you wear shoes (hello, rainy England) this part will rarely be seen - so I think they're great!

Lovely Blackberry-ish prizewinning yarn, lucky you!

Not only did you win - you won purple!
I like the spiral socks better now that when you first showed them. I was a bit worried the tones were all too similar, but the turquoise is showing up well in that photo. And you have cracked colourwork, which is a bonus!
Yes, absolutely you should write up the cranford sock if Jane ok's it - I for one would knit it!

Well, someone's been busy :D Lovely work, and very very lucky you for winning that gorgeous yarn! Loving the socks too - the colours in the spiral sock are beautiful - make each other really pop.

I love both your interpretations of my patterns!

Please do go ahead and write your pattern up. I'd love a copy.

As you have seen with my Miss Mattie's Stashbuster Spirals I have borrowed the idea back and combined it with an idea squirrelled from someone else - isn't knitting marvellous? I will credit you both when I write it up!
